Grade 7 and 8 students from various schools in The City of Sault Ste. Marie participated in the Access to Justice Day on Tuesday morning at the Sault Ste. Marie courthouse.
Students learned about what people in the legal system, such as judges, crown attorneys, defense attorneys, justice of the peace and mediators, do.
They also had a chance to go through a mock trial while playing a role such as judge, court reporter, police officer and attorney.
Students were also informed about what duties, such as mediation and counselling, other employees of the justice perform.
