Mathematics brought the families of the four school communities that will become St. Basil Catholic Elementary School together. Tuesday evening at Mount St. Joseph students of all ages, parents and future students came together in a night designed for the future Saints’ community to interact with one another while engaging in fun math activities.
The night started off with a pizza dinner that was provided by the school board. After the slices were eaten the students and their families began the math based activities. The activities included Math Twister, manipulatives, Connect 4, Make 10 and computer based games.
Each student was provided with a ‘passport,’ which got filled with stickers after they finished each station. At the end of the night students put their completed passports into a bin where 5 were drawn to win prizes.
