St. Basil Catholic Elementary School will offer full English Programming from Kindergarten to Grade 8 plus other unique programs as noted below. The school features state-of-the-art facilities that will enhance student achievement. As a Catholic nurturing community, we are called and committed to the full potential of each child and to foster a personal relationship with Jesus that will inspire Catholic leadership. Your child will be part of a safe and faith-filled school that is dedicated to developing the whole child.
All of our students, from Kindergarten to Grade 8, will be able to utilize special rooms including a science lab, music room, lecture/drama room and dance studio. The school also has a chapel and cultural room.
Families in need of day care services will have the opportunity to choose St. Basil’s on-site day care services. There will also be a Before-and-After school program that will be offered to students up to the age of 12. For further information contact Child Care Algoma at 705-945-8898

Please remember to call the school each day if your child will be absent or late. Messages that need to be passed along to teachers for your child should be written in their agendas daily.

Native as a Second Language
Native as a Second Language (Ojibwe) will be offered to students from Kindergarten to Grade 8. Students will learn how to speak, read and write Ojibwe through a variety of resources including, online resources, DVDs, songs, prayers and stories.
A key component of the program is learning about the culture, the history and traditions of the First Peoples of Canada. Indigenous education is open to anyone who wants to learn more about the First People of Canada.
