Three students at Holy Cross were rewarded for their efforts in helping the Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge celebrate its 50th birthday.
Thanks to the encouragement of Mrs. Casola, last year's grade 5 class at St. Patrick participated in a colouring contest. The theme was International Friendship with the twin Soo.
The criteria ....
- the drawing needed to show the elements of the bridge and
- combining symbols of both Sault Michigan & Sault Ontario
- the theme international friendship
Students were informed about the history of the bridge by Mr. Phil Becker. He was back today to hand out prizes to the top three participants.
Dorian Korab (photo middle) won first prize of $25.00 and a keepsake piece of the bridge (photo below). Second prize winner Kathryn Weston-Link won a 50th Anniversary cap and third place winner Jordan Ritchie won a commemorative water bottle.
Dorian's drawing will be included in a colouring book to be put together by MDOT to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge.
