POSTING: Clerical 2022-02

LOCATION:  St. Mary’s College, SSM

EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediately

END DATE: Undetermined

HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours/week

SALARY:  $26.97/hour plus vacation pay

DUTIES:              

Reporting to the Senior Secretary and/or school Principal, the successful candidate will be responsible for the performance of general office functions.  These duties include:

  • Maintaining student database (including admitting/demitting students, updating demographics, progress reports, etc.);
  • Preparing, disseminating and storing report cards, warnings and bi-weekly reports;
  • Providing transcripts upon request for current and former students;
  • Typing and filing of school reports, records, exams and correspondence including guidance office materials (OSRs);
  • Performing general office functions and providing secretarial assistance in the guidance area and administrative office as required.
  • Assisting in maintaining administrative records (eg. pupil attendance, record of supply teachers, student marks, etc.);
  • Meeting the staff, students, and public and answering the telephone;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Work as part of a team;
  • Possess a good knowledge of office procedures and methods;
  • Good typing and filing skills;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to perform duties with limited supervision;
  • Operate a computer and various software packages (Microsoft Office, Aspen, timetabling system.);
  • Operate office and photocopying equipment.
