A Message from the Director

Connect On

Today I officially begin a new chapter in my career as Director of Education for the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board; I am truly humbled to serve in this capacity.

Our staff, students, parents and all partners were challenged these past two years in ways few of us could have imagined, and together we rose to those same challenges with such strength, character, grit and dedication that all can envy.  I am hopeful that the worst of the pandemic is behind us and am committed to guiding and moving us out of the pandemic.  As we move forward into spring in the coming months, we can’t help but be filled with hope and optimism.

I realize that there is a great deal of healing that must take place and I feel blessed to know that we have outstanding staff who will provide continued support for so many of our students on so many levels including mental health and wellness.

have learned a great deal through my 25 years in education as a Teacher, Vice-Principal, Principal and Superintendent of Education, but the one constant element that is the foundation of so much of the success that I have been a part of is the importance of fostering respectful and genuine relationships.  I am always reminded of the power of the message in the quote, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”

I look forward to continuing to build upon the innovation and success that our incredible staff, students, parents and partners have created in our board in order to make our schools the most treasured places for learning and growing.   Our students are indeed well positioned to realize their full potential to transform God’s world, and I look forward to continuing this journey together and witnessing all of God’s blessings through the actions of our students.  Thank you.

Warm regards,
