Acting Vice-Principal, Sault Ste. Marie

LOCATION: Sault Ste. Marie, ON

This is a temporary managerial/non-union position.  The Board is seeking a dynamic Catholic educator who is able to work with staff, students, parents, clergy, parishes, and community members on the Board’s Mission and Multi-Year Strategic Plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ontario Principals’ Qualifications or a written plan to obtain same within a reasonable period of time
• Primary, Junior and Intermediate Qualifications
• Religious Education in Catholic Schools, Part 1
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

The successful applicant will demonstrate evidence of the following practices and procedures in accordance with the Ontario Leadership Framework (2013) – Catholic School-Level Leadership Framework:

• Setting Directions
• Building Relationships and Developing People
• Developing the Organization to Support Desired Practices
• Improving the Instructional Program
• Securing Accountability

In addition and according to the Ontario Leadership Framework (2013), the successful candidate will demonstrate evidence of their personal leadership resources:

• • Cognitive Resources
  • Social Resources
  • Psychological Resources

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Special Education, Part 1
• Religious Education in Catholic Schools, Specialist
• French as a Second Language, Part 1

1. a complete résumé with three (3) references, including a letter from a parish priest and a summary of leadership positions in education and faith-related activities,
2. the most recent Record of Qualifications from the Ontario College of Teachers and current performance appraisal.
