LOCATION: Supporting the Eastern and Northern Communities in the Board’s Jurisdiction

The Board is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, creative, organized and professional Catholic educator/leader who is able to work effectively with the staffs, students, parents, and communities in the board’s jurisdiction. The School-Based Math Learning Facilitator Special Assignment Teacher is responsible for the following, primarily at identified schools in the East and North communities in our board:
- Providing training/coaching to math teachers, particularly those teaching Grades 2, 3, 5, 6, and 8;
- Working with the principals as they support teachers’ professional learning, instructional planning, and performance monitoring;
- Supporting educators in their role as co-leaders with facilitating opportunities for parent engagement;
- Facilitating co-learning, co-teaching, and other job-embedded professional learning;
- Creating teacher resources, with a particular focus on high yield strategies and implementation of the new math curriculum;
- Communicating regularly with the board’s Math Learning Lead regarding the needs, challenges, and successes of the assigned schools.
- Travel throughout the board’s jurisdiction will be required in this role, as public health conditions permit.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Qualifications in primary, junior, and intermediate divisions
- Religious Education in Catholic Schools, Part 1
- One basic or additional qualification in mathematics (e.g. Mathematics – Grades 7 & 8, Senior Math)
- Significant experience teaching mathematics at the primary, junior, and/or intermediate levels
- Ability to facilitate virtual professional learning sessions effectively
- Comfort with a wide variety of technologies (e.g. Google Classroom, LMS, Skype for Business, Google Meet)
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout the board’s jurisdiction, as required and as health conditions permit
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Religious Education in Catholic Schools, Specialist
- Multiple basic and/or additional qualifications in mathematics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Superior interpersonal skills
- Strong technology skills
