HOURS OF WORK: 6.5 hours/day

SALARY:  $24.05/hour plus vacation pay

DUTIES:

The COVID-19 Support Worker is assigned to the school and reports to the school principal/vice-principal.  The COVID-19 Support Worker will be responsible for performing the following duties:

  • Escort students to and from the isolation room;
  • Supervise students in the isolation room until parents retrieve them;
  • If there are no students in the isolation room to supervise, help sanitize frequently touched portable objects (e.g., toys, Chromebooks, gym equipment, art supplies), beyond what school staff are normally doing;
  • Help take inventory of PPE, ensuring kits are well stocked at the end of each day and report any impending shortages to the principal / vice-principal;
  • If no students in the isolation room to supervise, step in to temporarily replace school personnel, where required, to ensure student safety.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • ability to work and relate effectively with children;
  • capable of performing lifting and restraining;
  • possess the skills and ability to perform the above duties.
