Marie, Wawa, and White River.<\/p><p>The Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board invites applications for the position of Superintendent of Education. The successful candidate will be assigned a system portfolio that meets the individual\u2019s expertise and background, including, but not limited to, oversight of a family of schools.<\/p><p>The successful candidate will be expected to report to the Mount St. Joseph Catholic Education Centre in Sault Ste. Marie. In addition, frequent travel throughout the board\u2019s jurisdiction may be required.<\/p><p>Reporting to the Director of Education, the Superintendent of Education will provide effective leadership and work proactively with the board\u2019s senior management in executing the Board\u2019s Multi-Year Strategic Plan to ensure consistent quality standards throughout the board.<\/p><p>The ideal candidate will have proven expertise and experience in teaching and leadership. Candidates are required to have a Supervisory Officer\u2019s Certificate within two years of the position commencing, with a written plan outlining how the qualifications are to be obtained if they have not yet been acquired. Additional qualifications are outlined later in this document.<\/p><p>Candidates are to be actively practicing Catholics with a strong history of dedication to the goals and objectives of Catholic education. The ideal candidate is an energetic, self-motivated, collaborative, hard-working, and visionary team leader who is ethical and caring. S\/He has:<\/p><ul><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills;<\/li><li>Proven leadership skills, particularly within the school environment;<\/li><li>A positive attitude and a track record of forming and sustaining strong community partnerships;<\/li><li>Competency with technology and ability to handle competing demands in an efficient manner;<\/li><li>Knowledge of, commitment to, and experience with Indigenous education and communities;<\/li><li>The ability to work with principals, teachers, and support staff in an environment of trust.<\/li><\/ul><p>In accordance with the Ontario Leadership Framework (2013), the ideal candidate will demonstrate the personal leadership resources of an effective leader, core leadership practices \/ competencies, and system practices and procedures.<\/p><p>Qualified applicants are requested to submit a cover letter, updated Certificate of Qualification and Registration from the OCT, and complete r\u00e9sum\u00e9. The r\u00e9sum\u00e9 must include the names and contact information of three professional references, as well as a <a href=\"https:\/\/site13659.gowizhost.com\/hscdsbtest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Pastoral-Reference-Form-1.pdf\">current pastoral reference<\/a>, with written authorization to contact these references.<\/p><p>The successful candidate is expected to assume the position no later than <strong>Monday, February 7, 2022<\/strong>. The Superintendent of Education will provide strategic, innovative and operational leadership and will work with the board\u2019s senior management in developing and executing strategic plans in support of the educational and business objectives of the board. The successful candidate is expected to provide support at board meetings and other venues.
