In this confidential non-union position, the Budgeting and Cost Analyst performs as an integral member of a team and contributes to excellence in Catholic education.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>LOCATION:\u00a0 <br \/><\/strong>Business Department, \u00a0Mount St. Joseph Catholic Education Centre (90 Ontario Ave, Sault Ste. Marie, ON)<br \/><br \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>EXPECTATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for preparing the Annual and Revised Budget and implementing budget controls through continuous monitoring and reporting of performance against plans.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for the development of the Capital Budget with support from the Plant Department.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for the strategic allocation of Priorities and Partnership Funding.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for the reporting and recording of Ministry grants through the Grants for Students needs and Transfer Payment Agreements.<\/li>\n<li>Supports completion of the annual Financial Statements, including ensuring the external auditor\u2019s requests are met.<\/li>\n<li>Provides budgeting and invoicing support to the school board system (ex. Principals, Curriculum and Special Education Departments).<\/li>\n<li>Supports the competitive purchasing process through effective sourcing, tendering, and adherence to the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive.<\/li>\n<li>Provides cross functional support with the Supervisor of Accounting as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Superintendent of Business in the establishment of efficient and effective accounting systems and internal controls.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Professional accounting designation.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum three (3) years of progressive experience in the field of accounting.<\/li>\n<li>Advanced computer efficiency in Excel and accounting software.<\/li>\n<li>Solid understanding of budgeting processes and Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAB), preferably in a school board setting.<\/li>\n<li>Discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to meet deadlines and work independently, collaboratively and with changing priorities<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated initiative.<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships.<br \/><br \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SALARY RANGE: <\/strong>$70,093 &#8211; $77,519<\/p>\n<p><br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Interviews will be held the week of January 31, 2022. \u00a0Please submit your cover letter and resume by\u00a04:00 p.m. January 27, 2022 to <a href=\"mailto:job.applications@hscdsb.on.ca\">job.applications@hscdsb.on.ca<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><br \/>THIS BOARD IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In compliance with the Ontario with Disabilities Act and the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board is committed to providing accommodations to persons with disabilities.
