In this confidential non-union position, the Supervisor of Budgeting and Purchasing performs as an integral member of a team and contributes to excellence in Catholic education.<\/p><p><strong>LOCATION:\u00a0 <br \/><\/strong>Business Department, \u00a0Mount St. Joseph Catholic Education Centre (90 Ontario Ave, Sault Ste. Marie, ON)<\/p><p><strong>EXPECTATIONS:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Supervises the budgeting, purchasing and accounts payable functions of the board;<\/li><li>Responsible for preparing the Annual and Revised Budget while implementing budget controls through continuous monitoring and reporting of performance against plans;<\/li><li>Responsible for the strategic allocation of Priorities and Partnership Funding;<\/li><li>Responsible for the reporting of Ministry grants (ex. Grants for Students Needs and Transfer Payment Agreements);<\/li><li>Supervises the competitive purchasing process through effective sourcing, tendering, and adherence to the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive;<\/li><li>Responsible for ensuring that standardized accounts payable processes adhere to board policies and payments are processed in a timely manner;<\/li><li>Supports completion of the annual Financial Statements, including ensuring external auditors\u2019 requests are met<\/li><li>Provides budgeting and invoicing support to the school board system (ex. Principals, Plant, Curriculum, and Special Education Departments);<\/li><li>Provides cross functional support with the Supervisor of Accounting and Payroll as needed;<\/li><li>Assists the Superintendent of Business in the establishment of efficient accounting systems and internal controls<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Professional accounting designation (CPA).<\/li><li>Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in the field of budgeting, purchasing, and accounting.<\/li><li>Advanced computer efficiency in Excel and accounting software.<\/li><li>Solid understanding of budgeting processes and Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAB), preferably in a school board setting.<\/li><li>Discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.<\/li><li>Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with demonstrated initiative.<\/li><li>Ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently, collaboratively and with changing priorities.<\/li><li>Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>SALARY RANGE: <\/strong>$85,007 &#8211; $92,069<\/p><p>Excel testing for this position will take place in advance of interviews.\u00a0 Testing and interviews will be held from February 28<sup>th<\/sup> to March 9<sup>th<\/sup>, 2022. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Please submit your cover letter and resume by\u00a04:00 p.m. February 24<sup>th<\/sup>, 2022 to <a href=\"mailto:job.applications@hscdsb.on.ca\">job.applications@hscdsb.on.ca.<\/a><\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><br \/>THIS BOARD IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER<\/strong><\/p><p>In compliance with the Ontario with Disabilities Act and the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board is committed to providing accommodations to persons with disabilities.
