Dr. David Williams, Ontario\u2019s Chief Medical Officer of Health, and Christine Elliott, Minister of Health, were also present for this announcement. The government\u2019s decision was based on public health advice.\u00a0<\/p><p>As a result of the government\u2019s announcement,\u00a0<strong>all schools in the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board will remain open and student instruction will continue throughout the week of March 15 \u2013 19, 2021.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p>We recognize that this announcement might be a source of disappointment, anxiety, and\/or frustration to you and your family. We share your concern for the mental health and well-being of our students, employees, and families, who have worked so hard throughout the 2020-21 school year and who eagerly anticipated a well-deserved March holiday. However, we once again request your cooperation and understanding that these announcements are beyond the board\u2019s control.\u00a0<\/p><p>In closing, we urge all of you to continue to observe all public health measures, particularly those related to travel and social gatherings.
