St. Paul students Ryan Rasheed, Keyana Lancita and Miranda Silk show their winning bookmarks

A contest to promote reading turned out to be a huge success at St. Basil and St. Paul in Sault Ste. Marie.

Librarian, Jane Douglas, says she was thrilled at the response at both schools to her contest that had students create their own bookmark.Students from all grade levels participated in the contest. 

The winners at St. Paul(photo above) were; Miranda Silk a Grade 2 student in the Kindergarten to Grade 2 category, Grade 4 student Ryan Rasheed in the Grade 3 to 5 category and Grade 7 student Keyana Lancita in the Grade 6 to 8 category. 

At St. Basil(photo below), Grade 1 student Ethan Shelleby won the Kindergarten to Grade 2 category, Grade 5 student Skyler Cowan won the Grade 3 to 5 category and Grade 6 student Fernanda Rojas Valenzuela won the Grade 6 to 8 category.

Copies of the three winning bookmarks at each school will be handed out in both libraries if a student is in need of a bookmark.
