SMC – Updates & Reminders for Families
Dear Families,
Welcome back to the start of a new school year! We hope you have had a restful and enjoyable summer.
As we begin the year, I would first like to extend my very best wishes to Mr. Pezzutto as he begins his well-deserved retirement. We are grateful for his many years of dedication and service to our school community. He will certainly be missed, and we wish him all the very best in this exciting new chapter.
I would also like to offer heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Czop as he begins his new role as Acting Principal at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Elementary School. This is a wonderful opportunity, and we wish him every success in his new position.
At the same time, we are thrilled to welcome Hannah Lettieri and Shawna Bock, who have assumed their new roles as Vice-Principals at St. Mary’s College. Please join me in extending a warm SMC welcome to them! We are excited to work together as the Administrative Team and look forward to serving and supporting our school community throughout the year ahead.
First Day of School – September 8, 2026
As we prepare for the first day of school, we would like to share some important information for students and families.
All students in Grades 9–12 are required to attend school for the full day and are expected to arrive in full school uniform.
Upon entering the school, students should proceed to the Commons, where lists identifying student names and Homeroom numbers will be posted. Students will then report to their assigned Homerooms.
Students will receive their timetables and locker assignments in their homerooms on the first day of school.
Student Timetables
Our goal is to ensure that every student has a timetable that supports their graduation requirements, program pathway, and a successful school year.
When creating student timetables, compulsory courses are prioritized first, followed by students’ elective selections. When conflicts occur between courses, alternative selections are added whenever possible to ensure students have a complete timetable.
We recognize that students and families may have questions once timetables are received. If your child has a question about their timetable or believes that a change may be required, students and families may submit an inquiry to our Student Services Team using the link below:
Timetable changes will be considered when there is a legitimate scheduling or program-related reason. Please keep in mind that we are unable to make timetable changes to accommodate requests for a specific teacher or to place students in classes with friends.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as our Student Services Team works with students and families to address any necessary timetable concerns.
