A Special Day

Orange Shirt Day – Every Child Matters 2021. Today – our school community honoured – remembered – and learned.

We gathered as a school for a virtual assembly and then throughout the day to hear class presentations from Mrs. Essex.  We enjoyed an Indian Taco lunch – with scone from Brii-Co Miijim.

A special treat of Tim Hortons orange sprinkle donuts was also very delicious – an initiative that supports the Indian Residential Schools Survivors Society.  We were proud to support this initiative.

To end the day – we listened to an honorary song and drum from Lee Simpson-Johnston. It is important to acknowledge, support, and learn – and that is what we did today.  Building relationships is so important! Together – we continue to renew, restore, and rebuild.
