class=\"s2\">Lead <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Water <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Exceedance<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"s4\"><span class=\"s3\">Ontario\u2019s Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks requires schools, private schools and child care <\/span><span class=\"s3\">centres<\/span><span class=\"s3\"> to conduct regular testing for lead in drinking water. <\/span>&nbsp;<span class=\"s3\" style=\"font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0px;\">As previously <\/span><span class=\"s3\" style=\"font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0px;\">announced<\/span><span class=\"s3\" style=\"font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0px;\"> in September 2023, a plumbing fixture at <\/span><span class=\"s3\" style=\"font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0px;\">St. Augustine French Immersion Catholic School<\/span><span class=\"s3\" style=\"font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0px;\"> was sampled and subsequently exceeded the current standard of 10 micrograms per <\/span><span class=\"s3\" style=\"font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0px;\">litre<\/span><span class=\"s3\" style=\"font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0px;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s4\">\n<\/p><p class=\"s4\"><span class=\"s5\"><b>Corrective Actions <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s4\"><span class=\"s3\">\u2022 The fixture was removed from service. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s4\"><span class=\"s3\">\u2022 Algoma Public Health and Ministry of Environment, Conservation, and Parks notified. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s4\"><span class=\"s3\">\u2022 A water filter certified for lead reduction has been installed. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s4\"><span class=\"s3\">\u2022 Resampled the fixture that exceeded the guideline. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s4\"><span class=\"s3\">\u2022 Continued daily flushing of plumbing fixtures. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s4\">\n<\/p><p class=\"s4\"><span class=\"s5\"><b>Outcome <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s4\"><span class=\"s3\">The fixture was re-sampled in December 2023, which resulted in an exceedance for lead on a <\/span><span class=\"s6\">\u201cstanding\u201d <\/span><span class=\"s3\">sample only.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"s3\" style=\"font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0px;\">The subsequent <\/span><span class=\"s6\" style=\"font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0px;\">\u201cflushed\u201d <\/span><span class=\"s3\" style=\"font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0px;\">sample was at or below the Ontario drinking water quality standard of 10 micrograms per <\/span><span class=\"s3\" style=\"font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0px;\">litre<\/span><span class=\"s3\" style=\"font-size: 1em; letter-spacing: 0px;\">.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px;\">As a result, this fixture will be placed back in service, and all fixtures for water consumption will continue to be flushed daily.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"letter-spacing: 0px;\">This notice services as information only.&nbsp; No further corrective action is required.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Update
