We’re Ready for You

Dear Parents,                                                                                    September 2, 2021

If you and your family were part of the Sacred Heart community in June, you would have received a letter explaining that we were moving to the new school over the summer months.

If your child is coming to Sacred Heart for the first time, welcome to your brand new school!  We are still unpacking but we will be ready for students on our first day of school on Thursday September 9th which is not the same as other school boards in the area.  We are grateful for our new facility and we cannot wait to continue our traditions of learning and growing together in faith. 

We are located at 303 Church Street across from the former St. Joseph school and our entry is on the left of the large cross.  Please see the schedule below for school bell times. 

There has been a great deal of information regarding Covid 19 protocols and requirements for families.  If you have not read the board’s plan, please click here for specific details.  

We will also send regular communication to parents if information changes. Most importantly, parents will need to screen their children daily prior to school attendance to ensure they have no symptoms of illness.  It is likely that some form of attestation for doing so will be required and we will clarify this as soon as we get more clear direction. 

We are encouraging all students to wear masks as outlined in the provincial guidelines.  We are hopeful that our collective efforts to keep school safe will result in a consistent school year of in-person learning for all. 

Unfortunately, a part of the building had a few hiccups and was not quite ready this past week for any kind of school tours.  We are now starting our professional development for staff so instead we have put together a virtual tour to help ease the transition. 

With Covid 19 protocols, non-essential visitors will not be permitted inside the building so we hope this video will also help parents see a bit of the amazing facility that their children will attend.  The video can be found at   https://youtu.be/2Wocsg6HduI   Stay tuned for more information.

2021-22 School Bell Times

8:35 am – entry bell (Buses will arrive beginning at 8:20 am)

There is no outside supervision prior to school, all students enter through the main entrance in a staggered manner to allow for as much distancing as possible.  If your child is not bussed, they should be at school between 8:30-8:40 am.  

10:15-10:35 Recess

10:35-10:55 Nutrition Break #1

12:35-12:55 Recess

12:55-1:15 Nutritional Break #2

2:40 pm – Staggered dismissal for non-bused students 

2:55 pm – Dismissal Bell for bused students
