During Black History Month students in Mme. Neveau’s Grade 5/6 class learned about a famous civil rights activist in the United States.
Dr. Martin Luther King was a revered champion of equality particularly for Black Americans who suffered discrimination. Sadly he was assassinated in the midst of his fight against racism.
However, his famous, “I Have a Dream”, speech he made in Washington, D.C. in 1963 remains a beacon for equality and justice for all.
Students were asked to put together their own ‘dream’ of their hopes for a better world. See some of their work below.
