LOCATION:  Various Communities in the Board’s Jurisdiction

SCHEDULE:  May through August 31, 2024 (approximately 150 hours program support; additional hours dedicated to preparation, training and reporting prior to and after the completion of Indigenous Transition Programming)

RATE OF PAY:  $51.77/hour

This position involves the oversight of the Indigenous Transition Coaches and all programming offered for Indigenous students over the summer. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Support the Transition Coaches in co-planning and co-facilitating programming for Indigenous students;
  • Assist in analyzing student self-id data and recruiting students to participate in transition programming offered in the various communities of the board;
  • Lead training and planning sessions with the team (dates to be determined by team);
  • Identify next steps to ensure successful student progress and transition;
  • Collaborate and liaise with local First Nations, Metis and Inuit communities, organizations, students and families;
  • Experience working with Google Meet/Microsoft Teams;
  • Complete the Indigenous Transitions Board Plan;
  • Complete the Indigenous Transitions Final Report.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Primary, Junior & Intermediate Division Qualifications
  • Principal’s Qualification, Part 1
  • Religious Education, Part 1
  • First Nations, Metis and Inuit Studies, Part 1

 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Principal’s Qualification, Part 2
  • Special Education, Part 1
  • Strong knowledge of local Indigenous communities, culture and language.


This position is open to Vice-Principals and Principals currently employed by the Board.
