LOCATION:  Various Schools  NOTE:  Some sites will require supervision from a distance.

SCHEDULE:  August 12, 2024 to August 23, 2024 (Approx. 50 hours)

RATE OF PAY:  $51.77/hour

The Summer Transition Program is a program designed to support students with complex special education and/or mental health needs transition back to school. In addition to regular administrative duties, this position involves coordinating and supporting a multi-disciplinary team of teachers, skill builders, behaviour coaches and autism advisors, with successfully transitioning students with complex needs back to a school environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Support the teams with all matters related to health and safety;
  • Support the teams in co-planning the Summer Transition Program;
  • Support the administration of the program and support with parent questions or concerns;
  • Lead training and planning sessions with the team (dates to be determined by team);
  • Ensure progress is tracked and shared with parents and the home school;
  • Identify next steps to ensure student progress and success;
  • Complete any Summer Transition Program reports required by the Board or Ministry of Education.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three of Primary, Junior, Intermediate & Senior Division Qualifications
  • Principal’s Qualification, Part 1
  • Religious Education, Part 1
  • Special Education Part 1

 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Principal’s Qualification, Part 2
  • Special Education, Specialist
  • Experience working with Google Classroom/Meet and the provincial Learning Management System (LMS)
