POSTING: Clerical 2024-10 

LOCATION:  Special Education Department

EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediately

END DATE: June 30, 2024 (Anticipated)

HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours/week

SALARY:  $28.97/hour plus vacation pay

DUTIES:

Under the supervision of the Curriculum Coordinator – Special Education, the secretary performs a variety of duties to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the department.  These duties include:

  • Coordinating the office activities (such as handling mail, phone calls, reception of visitors, etc.);
  • Typing reports, records, correspondence and reports as assigned;
  • Maintaining inventories and ordering supplies;
  • Setting up appointments for members of the Special Education Department;
  • Ordering, directing and distributing system-wide standardized testing to schools;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Work as part of a team;
  • Possess a good knowledge of office procedures and methods;
  • Good typing and filing skills;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to organize and maintain an efficient business office;
  • Ability to perform duties with limited supervision;
  • Operate a computer and various software packages (Microsoft Office, Aspen, etc.);
  • Operate office and photocopying equipment.
