Security Analyst
Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology and working within a strong team environment, the Security Analyst applies advanced technical knowledge and expertise in the support and administration of a broad range of security systems and applications. The successful candidate will participate in solutions design in relation to security controls, testing, maintenance, monitoring and optimizing security architectures, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
LOCATION: Information Technology Department, Mount St. Joseph Catholic Education Centre (90 Ontario Ave, Sault Ste. Marie, ON)
EXPECTATIONS:
- Monitor organization’s networks for security breaches and investigate violations as necessary.
- Recommend additional security solutions or enhancements to existing solutions to improve overall enterprise security.
- Maintain and operate information and security technologies, including, but not limited to, network intrusion prevention systems, enterprise anti-virus systems, firewalls, patch management systems, end-point encryption, and security incident management systems.
- Operationalize internal audit and compliance, as well as security architectural guidelines, standards, and policies for IT security.
- Implement and communicate standard tools and practices.
- Exercise considerable independent judgment in completing responsibilities, in accordance with departmental objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field of study OR relevant college diploma with equivalent work experience.
- Minimum three years of progressive experience in information technology and systems security.
- Familiarity with virtual environments, SAN technology, and ITIL V3 considered an asset.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is considered an asset.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and use them to improve current infrastructure.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic self-empowered environment and participate concurrently on multiple projects.
- Skilled at developing accurate time estimates, and documentation.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
SALARY RANGE: $70,093 – $77,519
