Are you passionate about supporting students with special education needs? Join the Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) and help make a difference in the lives of students across our board.

As a SEAC member, you’ll advise the Board on special education programs and services, ensuring that every learner receives the support they need to reach their full potential.

Key Requirements: 

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be a Canadian citizen
  • Reside within the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board’s jurisdiction
  • Be qualified to vote for members of the school board
  • Not be an employee of the Board

About SEAC:

Mandate:
The SEAC makes recommendations to the Board on matters related to the establishment, development, and delivery of special education programs and services. The committee operates under Provincial Regulation 464/97.

Focus:
SEAC’s focus is on supporting children with exceptionalities—intellectual, physical, social, emotional, or behavioural—to help every student achieve their full potential.Meetings:
The committee meets once a month throughout the school year. Unless otherwise noted, meetings begin at 4:00 p.m.
