POSITION: After School Program for Students with Autism – Program Facilitators (Grades K-8)

LOCATION: St. Basil Catholic Elementary School, 250 St. Georges Avenue E, Sault Ste. Marie         

SCHEDULE: April to June, 2026 (11 hours/ week on Tuesday & Thursday)         

RATE OF PAY: $46.41/hour

DUTIES:

  • Provide supervision for students with special needs in the After School Program (including classroom, gym and outdoor areas)
  • Conduct assessments to determine targeted areas for development
  • Write and prepare individualized skill-building and behaviour management programs for students
  • Engage with students for the development of social and play skills
  • Collect, review and graph data to ensure student progress
  • Write student progress reports for families and teachers
  • Communicate with families
  • Provide training and modelling of programs for staff, teachers and parents, as needed
  • Assist in writing progress reports about the program for the Ministry of Education
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary degree in education, child and youth studies, psychology or equivalent
  • Experience working with children and youth with special needs, specifically Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Extensive knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis
  • Senior therapy or behaviour consultation experience is considered an asset
  • Behaviour Management Systems training (or willingness to be trained)
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Police Vulnerable Sector Check
