POSITION: Behaviour Coach – Hornepayne

LOCATION: Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Elementary School – Hornepayne, ON

ANNUALIZED SALARY: $64,401 – $70,576 

EFFECTIVE DATE: February to June 28, 2024 (possibility of renewal for 24/25 school year)

Reporting to the Special Education Curriculum Co-ordinator, the successful candidate will serve as an integral member of a dedicated interdisciplinary team in co-operation with the principal/vice-principal, applicable school staff and outside professionals in addressing the needs of students with behaviour/autism. The successful candidate will provide support for in-school transitions and assist with the implementation of necessary recommendations. Working very closely with the Autism and Behaviour Advisors, Mental Health Lead and school team, they will provide coaching and direction in order to build capacity with our front-line special education staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of applicable Diploma or degree or equivalent
  • Training or equivalent field experience in autism and behavioural science
  • Experience working with children and youth who have special education needs, in particular those who have autism spectrum disorders

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and co-ordinating skills
  • Facilitating adult learning
  • Effective modelling and coaching strategies
