OSITION: Continuing Education – Secondary Summer School Teachers

LOCATION: St. Mary’s College, Sault Ste. Marie, ON or remotely

SCHEDULE: July 2 – July 29, 2025 – 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM (Monday to Friday)

RATE OF PAY: $56.57 / hour

The Board is seeking Catholic educators to work with the staff, students, parents, and the community during its secondary summer school program.  Candidates should possess an understanding and willingness to provide students with learning goals, success criteria and descriptive feedback in an online environment. In addition, candidates will be expected to attend training on the Learning Management System (LMS), which will be used for course delivery, instruction, assessment and evaluation (if not already familiar/trained in LMS).

Teachers are expected to be online from 8:30am to 2:30pm, lunch from 12:00-12:40pm.  Should a teacher require an alternative workspace due to limited internet bandwidth, a workspace at St. Mary’s College can be made available.

Pending sufficient enrolment, the following courses will be offered:

IN-PERSON (SMC)

  • Grade 9 – Expressions of First Nations, Metis and Inuit Cultures (NAC1O)
  • Grade 10 – First Nations, Metis and Inuit in Canada (NAC2O)

 E-LEARNING (ONLINE ONLY) (Teachers may work at St. Mary’s College or remotely)

  • Grade 10 – Civics (CHV2O) / Careers (GLC2O)
  • Grade 11 – World Religion (HRT3M)
  • Grade 12 – English (ENG4C)
  • Grade 12 – English (ENG4U)
  • Grade 12 – Religion (HRE4M)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Qualifications to teach one or more of the courses listed above
  • Proficiency in the use of the Learning Management System (LMS)
