Elementary School Secretary (Temporary) – St. Basil Elementary School, SSM

END DATE: March 6, 2026
HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours/week
SALARY: $32.12/hour plus vacation pay
DUTIES:
Reporting to the Senior Secretary and/or School Principal, the successful candidate will be responsible for the performance of general office functions. These duties include:
- Keyboarding and filing of school reports, records and correspondence;
- Assisting in maintaining administrative records (student attendance, record of supply teachers, student marks, etc.);
- Meeting the staff, students, public and answering the telephone;
- Operating office equipment and photocopying equipment;
- Operating computer and various software packages (Microsoft Office, Aspen, etc.);
- Handling and distributing mail;
- Performing general office functions and providing secretarial assistance in the administrative office and guidance area
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Work independently and as part of a team;
- Possess a good knowledge of office procedures and methods;
- Good keyboarding skills and filing skills;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to organize and maintain an efficient school office;
- Operate office and photocopying equipment.
