POSITION: Principal
LOCATION: Community of Blind River / Elliot Lake
EFFECTIVE DATE: September 2026 (may include transition from June to August)
ANNUALIZED SALARY: $146,505 to 160,000
The Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board is seeking dynamic Catholic leaders that are committed to inspiring and supporting student achievement, academic excellence and the Board’s mission, vision, and strategic commitments through innovative and transformational Catholic leadership.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ontario Principals’ Qualifications or currently enrolled in Part 2
- Any three of: Primary, Junior, Intermediate or Senior Qualifications
- Religious Education in Catholic Schools, Part 1
- Special Education, Part 1
- Excellent written and oral communication, and outstanding presentation skills
- Demonstrated leadership experience in the areas of instruction and assessment.
- Active participation in their Catholic parish faith community
The successful applicant will demonstrate evidence of the following practices and procedures in accordance with the Ontario Leadership Framework (2013) – Catholic School-Level Leadership Framework:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Religious Education in Catholic Schools, Specialist
- Special Education, Specialist
- French as a Second Language, Part 1
- Experience in a Vice-Principal position

- Cover letter and resume with three references;
- A current pastoral reference form and a summary of leadership positions in education and faith-related activities;
- Three professional references with two being from most recent supervisors, one being a principal;
- Current Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification;
- PQP Part 1 and/or PQP Part 2 certificate or proof of enrolment; and
- Most recent performance appraisal.
Interviews will be held Monday, June 15, 2026. Applicants selected for an interview will be required to do a 10-minute presentation.
