School-Based Math Learning Facilitator Special Assignment Teacher [REPOST]

LOCATION: Curriculum Department (home community may vary, but regular travel throughout the Board’s jurisdiction will be required)
START DATE: September 2024
The Board is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, creative, organized and professional Catholic educator/leader who is able to work effectively with the staffs, students, parents, and communities in the board’s jurisdiction. The School-Based Math Learning Facilitator Special Assignment Teacher is responsible for the following:
- Providing training/coaching to teachers, particularly those teaching Grades 2, 3, 5, 6, and 8 and 9;
- Supporting educators in their role as co-leaders with facilitating opportunities for parent engagement;
- Facilitating co-learning, co-teaching, and other job-embedded professional learning;
- Creating teacher resources, with a particular focus on high yield strategies and implementation of the new math curriculum;
- Working with the principals as they support teachers’ professional learning, instructional planning, and performance monitoring;
- Collaborating regularly with the board’s Math Lead regarding progress in math achievement and improvement targets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Qualifications in primary and junior divisions
- Religious Education in Catholic Schools, Part 1
- One basic or additional qualification in mathematics (e.g. Mathematics – Grades 7 & 8, Senior Math)
- Experience teaching mathematics at the intermediate level
- Experience teaching mathematics at the primary, junior, and/or senior levels considered an asset
- Ability to facilitate professional learning sessions effectively, both in person and virtually
- Comfort with a wide variety of technologies (e.g. Google Classroom, LMS, Google Meet)
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout the board’s jurisdiction, as required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Religious Education in Catholic Schools, Part 2/Specialist
- Multiple basic and/or additional qualifications in mathematics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong technology skills
This position is currently open to all OCT-certified applicants and will be considered in this order: i) permanent teachers currently employed by the board; ii) occasional teachers currently employed by the board; iii) external OCT-certified teachers.
