POSITION: Special Assignment Teacher – Outdoor Education Program Teacher, Grade 6/7

*This position will be supporting Outdoor Education at Our Lady of Lourdes, Elliot Lake and off-site, as required, with further details to follow.

LOCATION: Our Lady of Lourdes French Immersion, Elliot Lake, ON

EFFECTIVE DATE: September 2026

ANNUALIZED SALARY: $52,971 – $119,945

Reporting to the Principal, the Outdoor Education Program teacher is responsible for the expectations of a regular classroom teacher in addition to delivering outdoor experiential learning lessons to students in the class at Our Lady of Lourdes, Elliot Lake and in other applicable settings. The Outdoor Education program teacher will work in collaboration with the Cultural Resource Worker to embed Indigenous perspectives and land-based teachings throughout the program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Junior Division and Intermediate Division

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Indigenous perspective and Indigenous Education
  • First Nation, Metis and Inuit Studies, Part 1
  • Outdoor Experiential Education
  • Environmental Education, Part 1
  • Health and Physical Education, Part 1
  • Special Education, Part 1
  • Religious Education, Part 1

This position is currently open to all internal, permanent teachers, as part of the 2026-2027 OECTA staffing process.
