POSITION                : Tutors in the Classroom (Math Focus)

EFFECTIVE DATE    : October 2024

HOURS OF WORK  : Monday-Friday (During School Hours)                                                                                                                                 (Schedule of hours to be arranged with successful applicants)

RATE OF PAY          : $22.00/hour

LOCATION               : Positions in all Schools (Blind River, Chapleau, Elliot Lake, Espanola, Hornepayne, Massey,                                        Sault Ste.Marie, Wawa, White River)                                                                                                                                                                 

DUTIES

Reporting to the principal, the tutor in the classroom will be responsible for the following duties:

• Support the work of teachers in elementary classrooms to allow for tier three mathematics interventions
• Work with small groups of students to reinforce numeracy skills
• Support students with digital tools being used in the class to support math instruction
• Support students with assigned math work, problems and “extra help sessions”
• Supporting students as otherwise directed by the principal.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completed post-secondary program or
• Must be a post-secondary student currently enrolled part-time or full-time at a college or university
