Once again, Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board (HSCDSB) will offer an Indigenous Summer Transition Program. This program is free and open to all self-identified First Nation, Métis, and Inuit students attending HSCDSB.

This year, HSCDSB is excited to announce that the Summer Transition Program is not limited to Sault Ste. Marie. HSCDSB has extended the program to include Elliot Lake/Serpent River First Nation, Blind River/Mississauga First Nation, and students in Wawa, White River, Chapleau, and Hornepayne.

The Summer Indigenous Transition Program was created to assist Indigenous elementary school students while they transition to secondary school and prepare for student life. Students have the opportunity to build a firm foundation so they can achieve their educational and career goals.

The program offers Indigenous presentations, programming, and activities that incorporate cultural teachings, traditions, and practices. This innovative program also honours and celebrates Indigenous heritage while providing culturally appropriate support services.

Students who attend this program will be provided with transportation and meals.
