HSCDSB Students Enjoy a Musical Day with Juno Award Winner Norman Foote
Elementary students from schools across the City were treated to a special musical performance by celebrated Canadian musician, songwriter, and comedian Norman Foote at St. Mary’s College this week.
Presented in partnership with the Algoma Fall Festival, Festival of Learning, the event brought students together for a fun, educational, and laughter-filled experience. Norman Foote, a Juno Award-winning artist from Vancouver, is known for his engaging blend of humour and music that delights audiences of all ages.
During the performance, students had the chance not only to enjoy his songs and storytelling but also to learn about the creative process behind making music and the joy it brings.
“We are always thrilled to bring artists like Norman Foote to young audiences in our community,” said Donna Hilsinger, Executive Director of the Algoma Fall Festival. “His energy and love of music make learning fun and inspiring. It’s wonderful to see students light up with curiosity and creativity.”
Fil Lettieri, Director of Education for the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board, expressed his appreciation for the partnership. “We are grateful to the Algoma Fall Festival for providing our students with such enriching opportunities,” he said. “Experiences like this remind us of the power of the arts to spark imagination, joy, and lifelong learning.”
