The Outdoor Education Program offers students a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences in natural settings. Students will participate in outdoor experiential learning at both St. Kateri Outdoor Learning Centre and Holy Cross Catholic Elementary School. The program emphasizes a deep connection to the land and integrates Indigenous perspectives and land-based teachings throughout the curriculum.
About the Program
- Open to all Grade 6 to 8 students in Sault Ste. Marie during the 2025-2026 school year.
- Students will actively engage in outdoor experiential learning at St. Kateri Outdoor Learning Centre and at Holy Cross Catholic Elementary School.
- Transportation from Holy Cross to St. Kateri and St. Kateri to Holy Cross will be provided.
- Transportation from home to school and school to home will only be provided to students who are in the Holy Cross zone.
- Indigenous perspectives and land-based teachings will be integrated into the program.
