Student and Family Support
The Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board (HSCDSB) is committed to supporting families and ensuring that questions and concerns are addressed promptly and effectively. The steps outlined below provide clear guidance on whom to contact so your inquiry can be directed to the appropriate person or department.
In most situations, the most efficient way to resolve a concern is by connecting directly with your child’s school. We encourage parents and guardians to reach out first to their child’s classroom teacher or the school principal, as they are best positioned to understand and address school-related matters.

Contact Your Child’s Classroom Teacher
Any classroom‑related questions should be directed to your child’s classroom teacher. They are the first point of contact and can assist with matters such as homework, assignments, and report cards.
If a parent or guardian is unable to resolve a concern after speaking with the teacher or staff member, the next step is to bring the matter to the school principal for further support and resolution.

Contact the School Principal
The school principal should be contacted if a concern cannot be resolved with the classroom teacher. Principals can assist with a wide range of matters, including but not limited to student registration, special education supports, transportation, schedules, suspensions, the school code of conduct, school safety, fundraising, and parent councils.
If a parent or guardian is unable to resolve the concern after speaking with the principal, the next step is to contact the school superintendent through the Student and Family Support Office for further assistance.

Contact the Student and Family Support Office
The Student and Family Support Office is available to assist families who may need additional support after speaking with their child’s teacher and school principal, or when a concern falls outside the scope of the school.
Our office can help clarify next steps, connect you with your superintendent, and provide resources, guidance, and support.
