Tremendous efforts on the boys and girl’s sides powered the St. Mary’s College wrestling team capture the NOSSA overall title on Friday.
On the girl’s side a number of first placings sparked the team title showing.
Sienna MacDonald won the 115kilogram class while Felisity McDonald claimed 77kg honours, Emma Walker the 64 kilo crown and Sireea Marzetti the 57.5 kilo division.
Eva Lablance was runner-up in the 95kg class as was Lucy Ketchabaw in the 72 kilo group.
On the boy’s side, Kent Lablance won the 95 kilo group. Second place finishes went to Alex Spadafora in the 64 kilo class, Ben Holmberg in the 72kg and Justin Mercado in the 83 kg division. Will Iodence was 3rd in the 130 kilo division and Cameron McNaughton 4th in the 61 kilo.
The top two finishers in each division are eligible to participate in the OFSAA championships March 7 and 8 in Ottawa.
