Football Tryouts & Practices

Senior Football

The SMC Knights are gearing up for their 2025-2026 season, starting on Monday, August 18, with equipment pickup for returning Grade 12 players at 7 p.m. The next night, on Tuesday, August 19, rookie equipment distribution will be held for incoming Grade 11 and Grade 12 players, also at 7 p.m.
 
On-field training camp sessions begin Wednesday, August 20 and run through Friday, August 22, then continue from Monday, August 25, to Friday, August 29. Practices will be held daily at St. Mary’s College field from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
 
The camp wraps up with a preseason game on Friday, August 29, when the Knights host the Hammarskjold Vikings of Thunder Bay. This game serves as the first live-action test for the players, allowing them to apply what they’ve learned in training. It also provides an early look at the 2025 team for local fans.

Junior Football

St. Mary’s College Junior Football Training Camp kicks off soon, and all Grade 9 and 10 students are welcome, and no experience is needed! Equipment distribution for Grade 10 returning players takes place Sunday, August 24, 7 p.m., followed by on-field training sessions running Monday, August 25, to Friday, August 29, from 4–6 p.m. daily at the St. Mary’s College field. Bring cleats or running shoes, wear athletic clothing, and come ready to learn, compete, and be part of the SMC football tradition!
