St. Mary’s College Recognized for Outstanding Community Contribution Through Relay for Life
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service has recognized St. Mary’s College for its outstanding contributions to the community through the school’s annual Relay for Life event.
At the Annual Community Awards Luncheon, St. Mary’s College was honoured for its commitment to supporting cancer research while teaching students the importance of compassion, service, and giving back to the community.
Now in its third year, the St. Mary’s College Relay for Life brought together more than 300 students, staff, alumni, and community members in support of cancer research. This year’s event raised more than $105,000 – more than double its original fundraising goal – demonstrating the incredible generosity and dedication of the school community.
The event also featured powerful moments of reflection and hope, including moving speeches from cancer survivors and alumni whose personal stories inspired attendees and highlighted the meaningful impact of community support.
Through this initiative, the St. Mary’s College community demonstrated exceptional compassion, leadership, and unity, embodying the spirit of partnership and making a lasting contribution to the well-being of the community.
The Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board extends its congratulations and gratitude to everyone involved in making Relay for Life such a meaningful and successful event.
