LOCATION:  Mount St. Joseph Catholic Education Centre, SSM

EFFECTIVE DATE: July 4, 2023

HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours/week, 12 months/year

SALARY:  $27.97/hour plus vacation pay

Under the supervision of the Manager of Financial Services, the clerk will provide financial functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions for the Business Department.  These duties include:

  • Complete searches, input/export/validate data and generate reports and lists from various programs and applications. EasyConnect, SDS, School Cash Online, MPAC, etc.;
  • Reviews student registrations against assessment roll to confirm Catholic school support and follow up with required letter and forms to have support re-directed as required;
  • Reviews lists of other pupils of the board, confirms students in system, confirms with school and first nation partners, and routes invoices to board’s business office for invoicing;
  • Tracks and summarize financial transactions on a monthly basis;
  • Enters staff replacement data into payroll system, responds to questions, and validates data input by others within established timelines;
  • Sources items, provides costing information, prepares and tracks purchase orders, checks receipts against orders, enters account number, and routes paperwork to accounts payable;
  • Support the schools with various transactions related to School Cash reporting including verifying allowable HST rebates and ensuring completion of the monthly reconciliations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of grade twelve or GED equivalency plus job-related training and/or course work;
  • One to two years of previous job experience in an accounting environment performing financial duties;
  • Proficient in Excel, and MS Office Suite;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
