POSITION: Continuing Education – Summer Learning Program – Teaching Position(s)

For students completing Kindergarten to Grade 2 in June 2025

LOCATION: Holy Cross Catholic School, Sault Ste. Marie – four classes

SCHEDULE: July 7 to July 25, 2025 (approximately 60 hours of program support)

(Dedicated hours for training prior to and professional development during the Summer Learning Program) 

RATE OF PAY: $56.57/hour

REQUIREMENTS:

• Participate in training, planning/orientation sessions, as well as professional development (dates to be determined by the team);
• Possess knowledge of digital literacy and familiarity with Google Classroom and Google Meet;
• Co-plan and co-teach literacy, numeracy and active living opportunities;
• Implement reading intervention strategies;
• Ensure regular communication with parents;
• Integrate STEAM and Indigenous focused learning;
• Familiarity of the HSCDSB Multilingual Learners Guide for Elementary Schools;
• Possess knowledge of current reading assessment practices;
• Administer diagnostic assessments;
• Provide programming for students with special education needs

• Religious Education, Part 1
• Special Education, Part 1

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Reading, Part 1
