Rural And Northern Education Funding

The Rural and Northern Education Fund (RNEF) Allocation is dedicated funding from the Ministry of Education to further improve education for students from Rural and Northern communities.

Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board received $95,083 for the 2024-25 School Year. We also utilized $20,227 from reserves. The breakdown of the allotment of the funds is listed below.

  • Holy Name of Jesus – $8,364
  • Our Lady of Fatima (Chapleau) – $9,303
  • Sacred Heart (Espanola) – $32,990 
  • St Basil (White River) – $9,345
  • St Augustine – $22,662
  • St Mary (Massey) – $18,046
  • St Mary’s (Blind River) – $14,600

The above allocations were utilized to improve programming and support services in rural schools, enhance student transportation, and promote online learning.
